Paul Anderson (biography)
Paul Anderson is the eldest of the talented Anderson family from Tarland in Aberdeenshire. He was greatly encouraged in his early playing by Andy Linklater and later joined the Banchory Strathspey and Reel Society where he took lessons in Scottish fiddle playing from Angus Shaw. He went on to study for five years with Douglas Lawrence (the most acclaimed pupil of Hector MacAndrew). He is much sought after all over Scotland as a soloist and has toured extensively in the USA and Canada. He has won many junior and senior fiddle competitions culminating in the Glenfiddich Scottish Fiddle Championship in 1995. Recently he has completed recording The MacAndrew Collection, and also has four solo cd’s as well as guesting on many albums.
