This hornpipe is a great one for playing at sessions or as a Canadian Barn dance at ceilidhs. It was written by James Hill, a Scottish fiddler 1811-43 who lived in Newcastle in Gateshead area and is said to have developed the Newcastle style of hornpipe playing.
